One call on all home management related
issues handles the details.


Safety

  1. Only one company has keys and alarm codes to your home.
  2. Visual inspection of property is done during each walk-through.  This is also performed within 24 hours after a severe storm.  Digital photos will be sent via email if damage is found.
  3. Miscellaneous expenses are billed weekly.  There is no need to give out your credit card information or risk petty cash.  Receipts are attached to the weekly report.

     Gerald Box was raised near Shreveport, Louisiana and, since early childhood, had an eye for detail, an appreciation for a neat, clean home and a hard-work ethic instilled in him by his parents. 
     He enjoyed a full and successful career as a CPA and Management Search Consultant, with a Masters degree in Accounting, learning invaluable administrative and managerial skills.
     After retirement, he honed his skills as a meticulous housekeeper, adventurous Southern-style cook, and avid gardener, quadrupling the size of his personal garden.      Entertaining became a passion, creating and hosting memorable events, including fund-raisers for a number of groups in Dallas.
     In 2008, Gerald completed a rigorous training course at the Starkey International Institute of Household Management in Denver, Colorado, to become a Certified Household Manager.  This hands-on training emphasized all service aspects of the profession including administration, housekeeping, entertaining, personal care, grounds keeping, culinary, travel and transportation, clothing and valet, safety and protection, and maintenance.
     It was at the conclusion of this training that Gerald joined STS. He is now lending his expertise to home management duties for our clients as well as party planning.
     Gerald has been described as mature, professional, even-tempered, dependable, refined, dignified, patient and genteel--the quintessential Southern gentleman, a characterization appreciated by the clients of STS.

Tina Lawson, Owner

     Successful entrepreneurs tend to keep their eyes open for voids that need to be filled. That's how Tina Lawson came to create STS Home Management.

     Lawson, who managed the corporate offices of HCB Contractors from the mid- '80s to early '90s and later worked on the situation desk at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co., began an executive limousine business in 2001.
     But after listening to some of her clients' comments, she decided to take her services a step further.
     "Tina had been driving us to the airport and my husband mentioned that the prior house manager had quit unexpectedly and without notice," said client T.G.M.
     "Tina asked to be considered for the job. Now, I can't imagine where we would be without (her)."
      In 2003, Lawson's company evolved to encompass home management services.
      Lawson manages several multimillion dollar homes in the Metroplex for clients who often have multiple homes across the nation and rely on Lawson to "hold down the fort" while they are out of town.
      Clients are regular accounts that contract with STS on a monthly or annual basis. While clients are out of town, they are kept abreast of all household issues by
e-mail.
     "STS allows clients to have a better quality of life by freeing up their time to do what they want to do. We allow them more time to enjoy their life with family, friends, golfing etc.," Lawson said.
     "I treat all properties the way I would like a person to manage my own home," Lawson says.

Services

We provide weekly home management services that are  personalized to the client's needs.  Services are performed on an hourly basis. 

  1. We provide a thorough check of the property daily or as needed.           
  2. This walk- through includes checking the mail, receiving parcels or delivered packages and bringing in newspapers. 
  3. Picking up trash and sweeping outside areas.
  4. Trash and recyclables are placed outside.  Some large items can be hauled off properties.
  5. Maintain vehicles with the dealership. 
  6. Manage and meet with all contractors including maid service, landscapers, plumbers, painters, etc.  
  7. Coordinate contractor bids, check references and verify contractor qualifications.  Present bids for your review.
  8. Weekly updates can be sent via email and/or placed with your mail.   Billing is also done via email.
  9. Pick up drinks, grocery items, dry cleaning and perform miscellaneous errands as requested.
